Twitter Shorts

While writing a story for one of my collections, then checking Twitter, an idea popped into my mind: can a story be written in 140 characters or less?
  1.             Finally, she found the trunk release and pulled. Nothing happened. She wondered how long she had as she cried in the dark. #twittershorts
  2.             He found himself scratching until he bled, his arms swollen and torn. The itching persisted until no skin remained. #twittershorts
  3.             His words echoed in her head, "Don't close your eyes." Had she known she'd never open them again, she'd have listened. #twittershorts
  4.             With two broken legs, no more rations & a dying flashlight, he didn't even care when the rock ceiling over him crumbled. #twittershorts
  5.             What the audience didn't realize was that the magician's tricks were entirely real and the saws were as sharp as they looked. #twittershorts
  6.             "She doesn't live here anymore." He hung up on the insurance agent and smiled. The bound girl on the floor screamed. #twittershorts
  7.             The bug bite was more than just an itch or nuisance; it was the first domino that would topple mankind. #twittershorts (featured on OneFortyFiction.com)
  8.             The mechanized needle loomed over her, the table restraints holding her down. A voice said to the group around her, "Watch." #twittershorts
  9.             It was impossible to fight against his reflection as it reached out, grabbed hold of him & slammed his head into the glass. #twittershorts
  10.             The owner dealt the Ace of Clubs. "Bust." The stranger lifted the revolver to his head & pulled the trigger. A shot rang out. #twittershorts
  11.             I asked him for his daughter's hand. He agreed. It looks so beautiful on my mantel. #twittershorts
  12.             The last sand grain fell and the metal slab over her restrained body collapsed to the ground, crushing her completely. #twittershorts
  13.             The chains of Hell clapped around his ankles and wrists. "This is entrapment!" The businessman chuckled, "That's my job."#twittershorts
  14.             She was going eighty when the curve came up in the road. She hit the brakes. Nothing happened. She plummeted over the cliff. #twittershorts
  15.             The floor opened beneath her, cracking and tearing before her eyes. She was plunged into darkness, and the world fell silent. #twittershorts
  16.             The water gurgled. She peered into the tub. A scream came from outside. A hand grabbed hers, and she was pulled into the tub. #twittershorts
  17.             The man wept in the shadows. She put a hand to his shoulder. "Sir?" He faced her and showed his ghastly razor-sharp teeth. #twittershorts
  18.             "Seth Peterson?" He rose to his feet and looked down at her. His face was already decaying, skin sloughing off. He had turned. #twittershorts
  19.             He leaned in, the knife blade just under her eye. His breath was hot on her face. "I don't do well with liars," he growled. #twittershorts
  20.             They broke down the door, SWAT spreading out. "Oh god," he groaned. A message was scrawled on the floor in blood: "TOO LATE." #twittershorts
  21.             The cards hit the table; two aces, two eights. Blood dripped from the players' pores and they fell, dead. The dealer smiled. #twittershorts
  22.             Whispers hovered in the air around her. Scratching could be heard in the walls. And suddenly, blood dripped from the ceiling. #twittershorts
  23.             He stood in the back, mixed the high dose of arsenic into the ink, then brought the tray out front. "Ready for your tattoo?" #twittershorts (featured on OneFortyFiction.com)
  24.             Turbulence struck, and the lights went out for a moment. When they came back up, the other passengers were bloody corpses. #twittershorts
  25.             A creature's long, sharp claws wrapped around her ankle and pulled her down, into the rabbit's hole. #twittershorts
  26.             He turned to see his shadow rise from the ground, then screamed as it enveloped him in endless darkness. #twittershorts
  27.             "You don't understand," she said, her eyes glowing white. He stared, confused. "It's the end of the world," she whispered. #twittershorts
  28.             This wasn't like a movie. There was no music. No screaming. No guns blazing. It was dead silent. And they were after him. #twittershorts
  29.             The spikes whirled around her. "Like it? S'my take on the Spinning Jenny." It twirled and moved closer until it crushed her. #twittershorts
  30.             He was suddenly falling, endlessly. He tried to scream, but no sound came. They found him in a bloody puddle in his bed. #twittershorts
  31.             His arms and legs were tied, forming an X, and his captor laughed. Metal cranked, pieces moved, and he was pulled apart. #twittershorts
  32.             "When the light fades away, all that's left is darkness. And in the darkness, you are utterly and completely alone." #twittershorts
  33.             It was only when she turned down the hall that she saw the tall figure with no face waiting for her. #twittershorts
  34.             "It won't hurt. I promise," he said. She believed him. The spiked end plunged into her, & she screamed as it tore her apart. #twittershorts
  35.             You're free from your possession, but you've passed it on to me. Now, when I look in the mirror, the demon's all I see. #twittershorts (1/4)
  36.             When I try to tell them, they laugh in my face. It's as if they can't see the wide bloody eyes, the flayed skin, the evil. #twittershorts (2/4)
  37.             "Do you have a cross?" I hold it in my palm. It burns. I drop it on the table. My skin is singed, but she sees nothing. #twittershorts (3/4)
  38.             Only I can see the symptoms. Only I can see it's face. And as the demon gets a grip on me, my soul will be replaced. #twittershorts (4/4)
  39.             They called him Two-Faced, and now she knew why. He sliced hers off. The last sight she saw was her own bloody face, smiling. #twittershorts
  40.             "Never thought I'd smoke," she said. He smiled. She stared out the motel window. There's a lot I thought I'd never do... #twittershorts (1/5)
  41.             On his bike. On the road. The asphalt heat rose, even at night, warbling their view. One Hell behind them, onto the next. #twittershorts (2/5)
  42.             A cigarette rested at the corner of his lips. She clutched his chest with one hand, the other tight on her gun. Prepared. #twittershorts (3/5)
  43.             A corpse on the side of the road, the streetlight above casting odd shadows. "Stop?" he asked. She kissed his cheek. "No." #twittershorts (4/5)
  44.             The desert road was long and winding, but somehow, a group had come this far. He smiled and floored it. She drew her gun. #twittershorts (5/5)
  45.             You'll never see him coming, you'll only hear the sounds of music in the cul-de-sac, ringing through the towns. #twittershorts (1/4)
  46.             The eerie tunes of children's songs will find you in the light, you'll think it's safe and go along to get yourself a bite. #twittershorts (2/4)
  47.             But don't dare ask him for a treat, just turn and run away, for if he gets his hands on you, you won't see the light of day. #twittershorts (3/4)
  48.             Adults say, "It's the ice cream man, you've nothing to fear," but they don't know that Hell resides within the truck so near. #twittershorts (4/4)
  49.             But soon, the world would quiet, a giant, empty room. It was too late to put a stop to life's impending doom. #twittershorts
  50.             "Two minutes, Mr. Valentine." "Be right there." He smiled & covered the girl with a tarp, licking the blood from his fingers. #twittershorts
  51.             He looked around the empty house, clutching his axe. Leaning close to the chair nearby, he said, "Do you hear the voices?" #twittershorts
  52.             He slid another hook into her arm and she cringed. "If I'm good, will you come get me?" He kissed her. "Of course, my pet." #twittershorts
